asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement about his proposal to reclassify the A420 as a trunk road.

As my hon. Friend will now be aware, a draft order proposing that the A420 between Swindon and Oxford should become a trunk road, was published on 14 December. This road is part of an important route between Swindon and the midlands.
