§ Mr. Greenwayasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what steps he is taking to ensure that Mr. Edward Hopson does not return to Coxley Close, Ealing, following his release from prison after serving his current sentence; and if he will make a statement;
(2) what steps he proposes to take to ensure that Mr. Edward Hopson does not have private access to children after release from serving his current prison sentence;
(3) what psychological psychiatric help and personal supervision he is arranging for Mr. Edward Hopson while serving his current prison sentence and after his release.
§ Mr. MellorMr. Hopson's position as a restricted patient who has been conditionally discharged from hospital under the provisions of the Mental Health Act 1983 will he reviewed during his current prison sentence in the light of the medical and other reports my right hon. and learned Friend receives, and a decision will be made towards the end of the sentence. The particular points mentioned by my hon. Friend will be fully considered.
The prison authorities are considering Mr. Hopson's needs while he is in prison. Responsibility for his medical care rests with the prison medical officer.
