§ 48. Mr. Wallaceasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has received regarding the withdrawal of tax relief on merchant seamen spending more than 30 days outside the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. MooreDuring the passage of the Finance (No. 2) Bill 1984, Treasury Ministers received some 1,500 letters from seafarers and those representing them. Since the Bill became law we have received about 160 more letters on this issue, mostly within the last month.
