§ 29. Mr. Norman Atkinsonasked the Secretary of State for Defence how much weight he intends to attach to (a) the opinions expressed by hon. Members as to the 428W merits of light trainer aircraft and light support helicopters prior to his placing orders on behalf of the Royal Air Force and (b) the opinions expressed by professional aeronautical engineers.
§ Mr. ButlerFull consideration is always given to the views of hon. Members on such matters and to those of professional aeronautical engineers, including those who work in the Ministry of Defence. Before orders are placed, all relevant factors including performance, price, industrial and sales implications will be analysed fully.
