Total tax take from the North Sea—that is royalties, petroleum revenue tax (including advance payments), supplementary petroleum duty and ring fence corporation tax (before ACT set-off)—was £930 million in the period between January 1974 and April 1979. From May 1979 to October 1984, the total tax take was £35.1 billion.
