§ Mr. Donald Stewartasked the Secretary of State for Energy how much of the 5 per cent. increase in electricity bills referred to on page 24 of the Government's reply to the fourth report from the Environment Committee (Cmnd. 9397) he expects to be incurred in the first year and each of the subsequent years by consumers, as a percentage of their electricity bill, if the Government were to meet the European Economic Community draft directive on sulphur dioxide pollution which proposes a 60 per cent. reduction by 1995.
