§ Mr. Ralph Howell
asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what information he has as to the total imports of cereals to (a) the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and (b) China from (i) the EEC, (ii) the USA, (iii) Canada, (iv) Argentina and (v) Australia, for each of the years 1960, 1970, 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983.

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1) what were the total proceeds to the EEC of the 2,156,658 tonnes of cereal exports to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1982 and the average price per tonne of cereals sold to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics in 1982 and 1983;
(2) what were the total proceeds to the EEC of the 706,415 tonnes of cereal exports to China in 1982 and the average price per tonne of cereals sold to China in 1982 and 1983.

In 1982 European Community exports of cereals to the USSR and China were valued at $360.8 million and $104.2 million respectively. Price details are in the table.
