(3) what type of sentence has been passed on those persons convicted of rape and sexual assault in each of the last three years.
§ Mr. MellorThe available information is published annually in "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales" including the supplementary tables: for notable offences recorded by the police in table 2.9 of the volume for 1983 (Cmnd. 9349): for prosecutions, convictions and sentences in table Sr j 1–101.1(A) of vol. 1 and table 2.1(A) of vol. 2 of the supplementary tables for 1983 and in the corresponding tables in the volumes for earlier years. The figures for rape include some offences other than under section 1 of the Sexual Offences Act 1956, including offences of aiding and abetting and attempts.
