Mr. William Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will publish a list in the Official Report showing the percentage of the poll in each constituency at the last general election, indicating the six polling stations which had the highest and the six polling stations which had the lowest percentage polls and the constituencies in whicy they are situated.

Mr. William Ross

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will list for the last general election which six constituencies in England had the highest and which six constituencies had the lowest percentage poll; which six polling stations in England had the highest and which six polling stations had the lowest percentage poll; what those percentages were; and, in the case of the polling stations, in which constituencies they were situated;

(2) if he will list for the last general election which six constituencies in Wales had the highest and which six constituencies had the lowest percentage poll; which six polling stations had the highest and which six had the lowest percentage poll; what those percentages were; and, in the case of the polling stations, in which constituencies they were situated;

(3) if he will list for the last general election which six constituencies in Scotland had the highest and which six constituencies had the lowest percentage poll; which six polling stations had the highest and which six polling stations had the lowest percentage poll; what those percentages were; and, in the case of the polling stations, in which constituencies they were situated.

Information for the 1983 parliamentary general election on the number of valid votes counted as a percentage of the number of electors in each constituency is given in table 4 of "Election Expenses" (House of Commons Paper 130). Corresponding information for polling stations is not collected centrally.
