HC Deb 03 December 1984 vol 69 cc48-9W
Mr. Boyes

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what plans the Government have for the royal ordnance factories at Burghfield and Cardiff in the light of the imminent plans for privatisation of the royal ordnance factories in general; and if he will clarify who will be in control of the day-to-day running of these factories and the control of their security.

Mr. Butler

The royal ordnance factories at Burghfield and Cardiff are unaffected by plans to privatise the other ROFs. Day-to-day running of both ROF Burghfield and Cardiff, including responsibility for their physical security, will continue to rest with the director, atomic weapons factories.
