Mr. Neil Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, as a result of his review of the operation of section 152(4) of the Social Security Act 1975, he is now able to make a statement; and whether he will, in the meantime, instruct his officials to suspend proceedings under this section.

The review of section 152(4) of the Social Security Act 1975 is now at an advanced stage. We shall not, in the meantime, however, instruct officials to suspend such proceedings.
