Mr. Andrew F.Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Scotland which police forces intend to start or have started neighbourhood watch schemes or similarly named schemes.
§ Mr. AncramStrathclyde police operate schemes of this type and have plans to increase their number; Lothian and Borders police and Fife constabulary intend to introduce schemes shortly; and I understand that, in the light of experience in these areas, other Scottish forces will consider the suitability of such schemes for their own areas.
