§ Mr. Churchillasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he is yet in a position to say whether and in what form Her Majesty's forces are to be represented at the celebrations in Normandy to mark the 40th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
§ Mr. HeseltineHer Majesty's forces will be well represented at the events being planned to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy. The following ships and units are currently expected to participate:
HMS FIFE
- Naval historic aircraft flypast
- Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines Deal
- Headquarters of 3 Armoured Division and composite detachment
- One company of 1st Battalion The Light Infantry
- Band and bugles of 1st Battalion The Light Infantry
- Regimental Headquarters of The Parachute Regiment
- One company of 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment
- Band of 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment
- Red Devils Free Fall Team
- Battle of Britain Flight flypast
- RAF Trumpeters
- Lining parties, administrative elements and Army Air Corps light helicopter support
In all some 500 servicemen will be involved in the various ceremonies in Normandy.
