asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on recent developments in United Kingdom relations with El Salvador.

Relations with El Salvador are normal and correct. Official British observers visited the country for the first round of the presidential elections on 25 March and will be returning for the second round on 6 May. As we announced on 12 March, resident diplomatic representation will be re-established shortly.
