§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what proportion of dressings for domiciliary use by district nurses is (a) prescribed by family medical practitioners and (b) provided by health authorities.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeInformation on dressings prescribed by general medical practitioners can be obtained only from an analysis of prescriptions dispensed. This does not indicate which dressings were for domiciliary use by district nurses and which were for administration in the surgery or by patients themselves without the assistance of a district nurse. Information on dressings provided by health authorities is not held centrally.
