§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Prime Minister if she will make a statement on the introduction of the polygraph at Government communications headquarters.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Government accepted a recommendation from the Security Commission that a pilot study should be undertaken to test the feasibility of using the polygraph as part of security screening in this country. This pilot study, which will involve only a small proportion of the staff at the security service and at GCHQ, is expected to take some two years to complete.
