Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list those British overseas dependencies in which there is the right of appeal to the Privy Council.

Mr. Whitney

There is the right of appeal to the Privy Council in all of the United Kingdom's dependent territories.

Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list in the Official Report the form of government in each British overseas dependency and which legislatures are directly elected.

Details of the system of government in the United Kingdom dependent territories, including the composition and election of their respective legislatures, were contained in the statements placed in the House of Commons Library in response to the hon. Member's question of 27 July 1983. These did not include details for the Falkland Islands dependencies, which will be placed in the Library shortly.
