§ Sir David Priceasked the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State answering in respect of the Arts what has been the effect of recent decisions by the Arts Council upon the balance of public funding of the arts between London and the provinces.
§ Mr. WaldegraveThe figures are to be found in the Arts Council document "The Glory of the Garden", copies of which are in the Library of the House. £2.2 million per annum will be added to the budgets of the 12 regional arts associations, one of which serves Greater London, and £1.5 million will be specifically added to the provision for drama in 13 strategic areas, one of which is the London area. £0.5 million is set aside for the provision of an orchestra in eastern England. None of this will take effect until 1985–86.
