Mr. Home Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will call for reports from chief constables as to whether any police officers from Scottish forces have been deployed in England as a consequence of the current dispute in the mining industry.

Mr. David Marshall

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will call for reports from the chief constables involved about the total number of Scottish police personnnel who have been used in England during the current industrial dispute in the mining industry; what is the total number of man hours worked and the total cost involved; and from which Scottish police authorities they have been drawn.

Mr. Ancram

No police officers from Scottish forces have been deployed in England as a consequence of the current dispute in the mining industry.
