§ Mr. Farrasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will increase the level of disregard of net weekly earnings for single parents from £4 to £10.
§ Dr. BoysonIn addition to the basic disregard of £4 a week of net earnings, single parents also have one half of their earnings between £4 and £20 disregarded. Thus, a single parent with earnings of £20 a week has £12 disregarded for supplementary benefit purposes. We have no plans to increase this disregard, although we continue to keep the level of all disregards under review.
