§ Mr. Peter ReesThe last public expenditure White Paper—Cmnd. 8789—gives an estimated outturn on the public expenditure planning total for 1983–84 of £119.6 billion, representing an increase of nearly 82 per cent. on the outturn for 1978–79 compared with an estimated increase of 71 per cent. on the GDP deflator over this period. Revised plans for 1983–84 will be shown in the autumn statement.
