§ Mr. JoplingThe total number of staff employed in my Department at 1 October 1983 was 11,844. Of these, 106 staff are directly involved with the poultrymeat and egg sectors. A proportion of the time of many other staff is also involved with these sectors but it is not possible to quantify the number of man-years involved.
