§ Mr. Strawasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the timescale for the completion of the M65 motorway from Whitebirk, Blackburn, to the M6/M61 near Preston.
§ Mrs. ChalkerPlans to build a motorway connection between Whitebirk and M6 were abandoned in 1980 and replaced by proposals to improve the existing A677/A6119 route to the north of Blackburn. Further consideration of Lancashire county council's case for the "green route" is being undertaken, and I look forward to my meeting with the hon. Member, the county council and constituents from the area early next month.
