§ Mr. Bestasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will state for the last 12 months for which 436W figures are available the number of visa promise letters issued to persons resident in Vietnam wishing to come to the United Kingdom, the number of persons involved and the number of such persons who, to his knowledge, have been refused exit visas by the Vietnamese Government.,
§ Mr. WaddingtonIn the 12 months to 31 October 1983, 617 visa promise letters were issued in respect of 1,650 persons resident in Vietnam. We have no information on the number of exit visas refused by the Vietnamese authorities.
