§ Mr. Wardasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, further to the answer to the hon. Member for Southend, East (Mr. Taylor) on 2 November, Official Report, c. 406–407, concerning intervention stocks in the European Community, if he will give the annual cost (a) to the Community and (b) to the United Kingdom of the storage of such stocks.
§ Mr. MacGregorThe information requested on Community expenditure is set out in the table. The figures given for the cost of public storage cover net losses incurred on sales as well as the technical and financial costs of storing products in intervention, but exclude costs of export refunds. The United Kingdom's gross contribution to the Community budget, of which these costs form part, has averaged approximately 20.9 per cent. over the period in question.
