§ Mr. Allen McKayasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will bring in a scheme to support small tenant farmers by acting as guarantor for bank loans for development of farms in a similar way to schemes for the support of small industrial firms.
§ Mr. JoplingSuch a scheme is already in operation under the authority of section 64 of the Agriculture Act 1967. Through the agricultural credit corporation guarantee facilities are provided for credit-worthy farmers who lack the collateral necessary to obtain bank loans.
