§ Mrs. Renee Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, pursuant to his replies on 3 November, Official Report, c. 459 and 460, in connection with the neuro-otology clinic at University College hospital, if he has now seen the correspondence with the honorary consultant dated 10 August in which he gave details of the number of patients and the amount required to run the clinic in 1983–84; and if he will now revise his offer of £5,000 for 1983–84.
§ Mr. John PattenThe consultant in question wrote to me on 10 August and I saw this letter, to which officials replied on my behalf on 30 September, before the decision about the 1983–84 funding of the clinic was taken. The letter does not contain any of the details to which the hon. Member refers.
