§ Mr. Leightonasked the Prime Minister what other fully developed common policies, apart from the common agricultural policy, exist within the European Community.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Community has developed a common commercial policy and a common fisheries policy. The treaty of the European Coal and Steel Community provides a framework of common rules governing production and trade in coal and steel. Progress is also being made in the development of Community policies in a number of areas, including completion of the internal market, transport, energy, industrial, regional and social policy, the environment and research and development.
