The possibility of licensing community radio stations was considered in a preliminary way in the third report of the Home Office local radio working party, published in December 1980. Further consideration will be given to the possible development of community radio when information is available about the frequencies assigned to the United Kingdom following the VHF/Band II conference to he held in Geneva next year.
