Figures taken from the Joint Manpower Watch manpower survey show, however, that between March 1982 and March 1983 the number of full-time employees in local authorities in England fell by 3,893 (—0.3 per cent.) while the number of part-time employees increased by 9,309 (+1.1 per cent.).
