Mr. Skinner

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) what was the percentage rate of loss of disposable income for an average unemployed worker with a non-working wife and two dependent children in the United Kingdom in 1982; and what was the comparable loss for an unemployed worker in the same circumstances in (a) Denmark, (b) France, (c) Ireland and (d) Holland;

(2) what was the percentage rate of loss in disposable income for an average unemployed single worker in the United Kingdom in 1982; and what was the comparable loss for a single worker in (a) Denmark, (b) France, (c) Ireland and (d) Holland.
