§ Mr. GummerIt is provisionally estimated that 267,000 working days were lost through industrial disputes in the United Kingdom during September 1983, the latest month for which figures are available. The totals for the first nine months of the year and for the 12 months up to the end of September were 2,864,000 and 3,642,000 respectively, compared with an annual average of over 10 million days in the previous 10 years.
