Tax Reliefs (Abolition)

Mr. Stern

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will take steps to abolish the tax relief for blind persons under section 18 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1970; and if he will make a statement;

(2) if he will take steps to abolish the housekeeper tax relief under section 12 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1970; and if he will make a statement;

(3) if he will take steps to abolish the tax relief for daughter's services under section 17 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1970; and if he will make a statement;

(4) if he will take steps to abolish the dependent relative's tax relief under section 16 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1970; and if he will make a statement.

I have no proposal at present to abolish these reliefs.
