§ Sir George YoungRepair grants are already available for dwellings built before 1 January 1919. I assume my hon. Friend has in mind extending repairs grants to dwellings built after 1 January 1919.
We are currently reviewing the operation of the home improvement grant system and we have the 1919 cut-off 415W date under consideration, though the last English house condition survey showed that over 90 per cent. of dwellings in substantial disrepair were built before 1919.
