The latest available information on the level of South African direct investment in the United Kingdom relates to the position at the end of 1978. This is published in table 14 of "Business Monitor MA4, 1978 Supplement, Census of Overseas Assets 1978", a copy of which is in the Library. The figure is £333.4 million, excluding oil, banking, and insurance.
