HC Deb 12 May 1983 vol 42 c407W
Sir David Price

asked the Minister for Trade if he will estimate how much less oil and gas tanker tonnage is currently required to meet the fuel needs of the United Kingdom as a result of the development of the oil reserves of the North sea.

Mr. Sproat

I regret that no reliable estimate can be made of the additional tanker tonnage that would be required in the absence of the development of the oil reserves of the North Sea.
