§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many people were placed in jobs by jobcentres in the Walthamstow area in the past year; and what has been the trend in the number of such placements since May 1979.
§ Mr. Peter MorrisonWalthamstow jobcentre placed 4,046 people in jobs during the year ending 8 April 1983. There is likely to have been a substantial number of people who found jobs in the area other than through the jobcentre. The numbers of placings achieved by Walthamstow jobcentre on a monthly basis since its opening in 1981 are listed as follows. Comparable placing figures for an earlier period are not available.
