§ Mr. Ron Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Excheqer if he will estimate (a) the amount of income tax deferred from 1982–83 to 1983–84 as a result of the Inland Revenue discontinuing the adjustment of pay-as-you-earn codes for mortgage interest relief on changes in the rate of interest and (b) the number of taxpayers affected.
