The movement of military nuclear material within the United Kingdom is governed by very strict safety regulations, which are at least as stringent as those applied to the transportation of civil radioactive materials and are in full accord with all relevant international standards and regulations. Movements are kept to a minimum and strict precautions are also taken to safeguard the security of the cargo.
