§ Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will seek to amend the law to require the Independent Broadcasting Authority to ensure that commercial television companies observe the terms of their franchise.
§ Mr. MellorThe Broadcasting Act 1981 already furnishes the Independent Broadcasting Authority with powers in that regard and we have no reason to think that additional powers are needed.
