§ Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make it his policy not to give funds under the overseas aid programme to those Commonwealth countries which voted for the Argentine-sponsored resolution on the question of the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. RaisonIt is our policy to allocate aid funds after consideration of all relevant factors rather than on the basis of a single one.
We noted with appreciation the decision of the clear majority of Commonwealth countries not to vote for the UN resolution in question.
§ Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what has been the annual level of aid in each of the last five years to Botswana, Cyprus, Ghana, Grenada, India, Malaysia, Malta, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe, respectively.
