§ Mr. Fryasked the Secretary of State for Transport when he expects to be able to announce his decision on the South Woodford to Barking relief road public inquiry; and when he expects construction of the road to commence.
§ Mrs. ChalkerWe have not yet received the inspector's report, and my right hon. Friend will then, in conjunction with the Secretary of State for the Environment, want to consider carefully the details of this very major scheme. I would hope a decision could be reached by the end of the year. Thereafter, if the decision is favourable, there will be some months of detailed planning work before construction can begin.
