HC Deb 04 March 1983 vol 38 c250W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Energy to what extent he expects that the fall in oil product prices will reduce the price of natural gas for industrial consumers.

Mr. Gray

The price of gas on contract to industrial and commercial customers will be frozen until 1 October 1983, as the British Gas Corporation announced on 8 November 1982. These prices are substantially below the price of the equivalent oil products and I do not expect the present level of oil product prices to cause British Gas to alter the prices it charges for gas supplies to industry.
