§ 47. Sir Hector Monroasked the Solicitor-General for Scotland how many prosecutions there have been during the last convenient year for exceeding the road speed limit where radar guns have been used.
§ The Solicitor-General for ScotlandFigures are not separately kept of the means used to detect motorists committing speeding offences. However, I can advise my hon. Friend that during 1981, the latest year for which statistics are available, the total number of persons prosecuted for speeding offences in Scotland was 27,296 and the number of those cases which were proved during that period was 26,467.
