§ Mr. BrittanLater this year the Home Office will participate in a survey of the ethnic origins of all non-industrial Civil Servants, and in selective surveys of applicants for Civil Service jobs, in the county of Avon and in the north west economic planning region—Cheshire, greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside. In the light of these surveys, the Home Office will, with other Government Departments, be considering the scope for further action along the lines recommended by the Commission for Racial Equality.
