§ Mr. Trotterasked the Lord Privy Seal what, taking into account his latest proposal, will be the difference between the pay of an hon. Member (a) from February 1974 and (b) from June 1983 to 31 December 1986, compared with the review body recommendations, expressed in pounds of current purchasing power and assuming a fall in the value of the pound between the present date and 31 December 1986.
§ Mr. BiffenThe following table shows, for the years in which the Top Salaries Review Body made recommendations on the salaries of Members of Parliament, the salaries paid to hon. Members, the salaries recommended by the review body as appropriate and the difference between these salaries expressed in June 1983 prices:
