§ Mr. WaldegraveUnder the Control of Pollution Act 1974 local authorities already have powers to act against existing or expected noise nuisances. In addition, they can adopt provisions under the Local Government296W (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 which require the licensing of open air musical entertainments. We doubt the need for further legislation.
