§ Mr. David MitchellSince May 1979 the Government have maintained all the noise abatement measures then in force despite the difficult economic climate in which the civil aviation industry has had to operate. These measures are intended to minimise the disturbance caused by aircraft and helicopter noise over West London and other areas similarly affected. The Government will continue to encourage the development and adoption of additional measures as appropriate.
