§ Dr. BoysonIt is estimated that on the introduction of the housing benefits scheme, about 65,000 pensioners ceased to qualify for supplementary benefit because their total income exceeded their supplementary benefit requirements; consequently they are no longer eligible for single payments of supplementary benefit.
