§ Mr. HurdIn England and Wales, since 1946, when the present record system was instituted, four persons released on licence from a sentence of life imprisoment for 89W murder were subsequently convicted of further offences of murder while at liberty; two persons serving sentences of life imprisonment for murder were convicted of further offences of murder committed in prison; in addition, one person released on licence from a sentence of imprisonment for murder was subsequently convicted of an offence of murder committed while serving a sentence of imprisonment in Northern Ireland.
